Margaret Bates graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke University with a bachelor's in Psychology. Additionally, she was ABD while studying toward her Ph.D. in childhood development at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and holds a Master's in Industrial/Organizational psychology from the University of Baltimore. She has decades of experience in academic writing and editing. She has also worked both with creative writing students as well as undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Baltimore's writing center as a paid writing tutor.

Additionally, years of experience as a fiction writer, ghostwriter, and freelance editor have given her a keen eye for pacing, character development, and character voice. Under a pen name, she is a USA Today Bestselling Author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. She would love to help use her expertise to improve your writing.
